I'm sitting here in the McMurrich building waiting to be throughly owned by my HIS106 exam. I can hardly keep my eyes on my page to study anymore. I know I should do these things bit by bit but it's been hard lately, to keep on track, with everyone going wild around me. It's crazy how the exam is worth 35% of your final grade. That's not a reflection of my learning at all. I've gotten A's all the way through the term. And right now? It's impossible for me to even get an A-. Not even with 100% on the exam. It's B's for me. Which is fine. It's just when I exceed expectations through the year I expect that to be reflected in my final mark. Alas, that is not the case.

I have to write an essay tonight as well. Oi vey. Well, only one more week after this. Only one more exam, and I'll be done.

Being home has been alright. Pretty quiet really. I've been playing on the computer a lot to be honest. There's just not people around and I don't want to go out for a drive, just to go out for a drive, you know? I could and should be studying, but I'm lacking the willpower for that right now. I don't know. I need to get on it though, otherwise I'm sensing some massive fail in my future. Like, the for real kind.

Oh boy. Well, thus is life. I've been so busy lately. I kind of want to die.

Dave and I have been talking almost daily for about two weeks. Talking about pretty much everything.

Life is bizarre.

My father just got a blackberry. I can tell he's so proud of himself. I just got this in my inbox...

Something tells me I'll be getting lots of messages like these in the future. My dad's been in town for the last couple of days. He has this giant conference going on here. 17000 delegates or something. Massive. Anyway, last night we went to The Keg for dinner, and tonight he took me to the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Natural Resources Hospitality Suite at the Royal York. So swanky. Everyone there was a geologist and a bunch of my Dad's friends. I have never seen so many socially awkward fifty year old white guys in bad sport coats before. My dad was in a suit though. He's got style.

We're also going to dinner tomorrow night with my aunt and uncle. I'm starting to think that living with my dad this summer may not be too bad. We know when to give each other space. So, it'll be fine.

Oh, and JESUS SOLARIO from SYTYCD totally emailed me this week all "I hope you remember me! We met at the tour in Toronto." Super cute. I must say.

I really do need to write more. I pay for this thing.

Life is pretty hectic right now and I'm sort of in this state of perma-exhaustion. I'm usually frantic and can't focus. I think once the run of the show at school is over I will be fine. I could also use a boy-cuddle right now, but alas, that will be a week and a half from now until I get one. Boo.

January is a bizarre month. It is supposed to be full of new beginnings, but mostly I've found people are just upset or sad. They've lost what was 2007 or something. I don't know, but the first week back at school was terrible. Everyone seemed so unhappy.

I had forgotten what it was like to have a best friend. It's nice.

So, my brother and I occasionally have a chat on the MSN. This is what happens...

A belated Happy New Year to my el-jay posse. I actually spent the countdown alone, missed it by three minutes because I was watching a good episode of Pilot Guides and didn't want to miss the ending. I turned it over to the CityTV New Year party just as the cast of We Will Rock You came on. Around 1:30am the gentleman caller came over and we hung out for the rest of our waking hours.

School starts Monday. I am relieved and not relieved. I kind of want to just get a job and work instead. I kind of don't want to go to acting class. I feel as if I've hit a plateau.

This weekend was pretty brilliant.

I had a great party at the apartment with wonderful people and much more.

Have you ever gone to school and just had a totally amazing lecture, like... really good. The prof is SO into it and he's getting everyone involved and you can just tell that everyone is frantically scribbling notes not because they need them for the test but because they don't ever want to forget what the prof is saying because they feel better for knowing. It's awesome. I had a freaking bomb Black Freedom class today.

Last year I worte two essays and did mediocre on both. I've written two essays thus far this year and have gotten As on both of them. I do good work in history apparently.

SO... So You Think You Can Dance Toronto experience needs to be recounted.
It's hella long so I'll cut it for all you losers.

Yeah. We met. We chilled. He's going to be in touch with me and seishin regarding Toronto publicity for him new album. He also spontaneously hugged me and high fived me and held my hand.

Well, I should journal more.
Just in general.

School is really crazy. Beyond crazy. This year will be my hardest. I'm sure of it. There is just so much to do.

Ken and I had a bit of a brainstorming session today which was pretty frikken bomb when I think about it. Me and Ken, just chilling, just being all "Yeah, that's a great idea, and we should..." I also namedropped him for the first time today. He told me to, so I didn't feel too bad, but the reaction was fabulous.

"Hi Diane, this is Victoria ----- calling from the UCDP! Ken Gass gave me your name."
"OH KEN! How IS he?"

It was amazing. I think this summer I am going to give him my resume and just tell him if he knows anyone who needs an office assistant or anything in the theatre world, he knows I am fully capable.

I feel like I'm finally falling into step here, if that makes any sort of sense. Like I'm starting to belong all over the place.

I'm not being a very good person right now.
I'm alone all the time.

Air Canada lost my luggage. On a flight from HALIFAX to TORONTO. How does one do that? For real! I mean, if I had a connecting flight somewhere, or was going into a different country I'd understand... but Tdot to Hali? Wtf mate, wtf?

They also found my luggage. I skipped last class today to come home and be here to receive it, but they forgot to come. They are coming tomorrow at 7am. Awesome. I mean... NOT AWESOME.

Things I have:
-So many new textbooks.
-A printer that works.
-A job.

I got the job at Jacob at Bay and Bloor which is excellent. Fab location, and everyone who works there seems really nice. The staff is really attractive too, so I feel more attractive by extention.

I switched my minor this week. From German language to African Studies. I just discovered we had an African Studies Department Tuesday night. It's been a frantic couple of days. I went to my first Black Freedom lecture today and I was actually really, really, interested. It was totally cool. The students in the class seemed into it and the Prof knew what he was talking about. I'm really excited. It'll be a lot of work, as there are some papers and things that German didn't have, but I know I can do it. TIME MANAGEMENT.

Today I found a TTC token on the pavement and I was really excited. When it starts to get dark I can use it to take the subway home from German.

Lists will become my life this year. I've found that if I don't finish a list that I make I feel really bad the next day, so in order to avoid feeling bad, I do everything. It's been working so far except for a few mundane things ("Buy paint!"). Time management will be my best friend this year.

This has been quite the weekend filled with apartment moves, scares, and roommate bonding periods. Good news is that somehow, through all the mess and garbage that is craigslist I managed to win the roommate lottery. Aneeka is fantastic and we have the same sense of humor and habits. We've been watching reruns of Family Guy and So You Think You Can Dance and discussing our past excursions. It's been good.

Tomorrow I have a job interview. Hurray!
